Stand Firm. Live Well.   •   A student wellness initiative
Mi Footing

A space to stand firm and live well.

Mi Footing is a UCC capstone student wellness project designed around reflection, connection and access to helpful information.

Why Mi Footing?

University life is more than assignments and exams. Students may be balancing coursework with employment, family responsibilities and everyday pressures. Online and flexible learning can make education more accessible, but it can also mean fewer opportunities to connect with classmates and seek support in person.

Feelings of isolation, difficulty maintaining motivation and the absence of a steady routine can make studying feel harder. These are challenges discussed in external research and educational writing about remote learning; they are not presented here as findings from a survey of UCC students.

Mi Footing is being designed to help bridge that gap. Through private wellbeing check-ins, accessible learning resources, information about professional support and a planned moderated student community, the project aims to make it easier to pause, reflect, connect and find an appropriate next step.

Our approach

We use Jamaican warmth, accessible design and privacy-aware technology. The platform is an educational prototype and does not replace professional mental health care.
